I think I mentioned I was taking Gabrielle to a child psych due to some of her weirdness. I had her eval'd by ChildFind (the free govt. thing) and they
didn't find any issues with her (this was in May) so I just wanted to have her re-eval'd because of those PDD-NOS red flags she has.
So at the eval, the doctor was very nice. I liked her, which surprised me
Anyway, after she observed G while we talked, she basically came to the same
conclusions as me
which is that G may be just a difficult child OR she may have a diagnosis... she basically is sitting on the fence like I have been the
past year
She is going to have another appt. with this doctor in October, after she's attended pre-school a bit and the teacher can evaluate her on the checklist... and see if her behavior is causing it to affect her learning or the class. She said basically what I was thinking which is that her issues are really only a problem if they interfere with her learning, etc.... and that's all I care about. I told her I am fine if she is just 'the weird kid' (because after all we are all a little weird
) but don't want it to affect her schooling.
She did praise her highly on her language skills
but did note that she definitely displays some soft neurological PDD-NOS markers
